Trump’s rules could throw 688K off of food assistance rolls

The Trump administration is looking to tighten work requirements for low-income Americans receiving benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Congress previously voted to reject the rules the U.S. Department of Agriculture expects to put into practice on April 1, 2020.
