Up to 25K stores could close this year

Retailers, many in trouble before the coronavirus pandemic hit, are now on even more tenuous ground. The result, according to Coresight Research, is that between 20,000 and 25,000 stores in the U.S. could close this year. The vast majority of those, between 55 and 60 percent, will be in malls.
