Wal-Mart to Give First Time Crooks a Pass
The New York Times (free reg. required) 07/13/2006An internal document says Wal-Mart will let first time shoplifters caught taking $25 or less in merchandise go without reporting the incident to the police. Those caught will have to be under 18 or over 65 to avoid prosecution.
