Stefano Pessina plans to step down as CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance. Mr. Pessina, who owns more than 16 percent of the drugstore giant, will assume the role of executive chairman after the company appoints a new CEO. James Skinner will step down as executive chairman but plans to remain on the company’s board.
