Walgreens tries to fix its front end

When Walgreens and Boots merged, the plan was for the U.S. chain to bring on the high-end beauty brands and counter service that has worked so well for the UK druggist. That strategy, many within the organization now believe, has failed to deliver the front-of-pharmacy results expected. This, in turn, has led Walgreens to take a more mass market approach, including a new partnership with Kroger to sell groceries.
