Walmart teams up with Google to activate voice commerce

Walmart, which doesn’t manufacture its own smart speaker system, is teaming up with Google to use its Google Assistant system to place online orders for pickup at more than 2,100 of the retailer’s stores in the U.S. The purchasing histories of individual consumers will be aligned to Google Assistant so the AI-powered device will know the products that individuals prefer.
