Walmart tests tech to improve food safety

Walmart is testing blockchain, a database technology, in China and the U.S. to better track and respond to food safety issues. The technology promises to give the retailer the ability to respond to emergencies such as E. coli outbreaks in matter of minutes instead of the days it currently takes.
