Walmart to focus more on e-commerce

As recent investments suggest, Walmart is focusing more on the digital side of its business. CEO Doug McMillon, speaking at the retailer’s annual investment meeting, said Walmart would “look more like an e-commerce company” going forward. Walmart plans to open 130 new stores in the U.S. this year, below its original estimate of between 135 and 155.

Waffle House workers in Conyers, Georgia, are now on their third day of striking over what they call the company’s unfair policies. Led by the Union of Southern Service Workers (USSW), Waffle House employees are demanding an end to the mandatory “meal credit” deductions from their paychecks, along with better wages and improved working conditions.
