Wendy’s says McD’s fresh beef test not affecting its business

Wendy’s reported that a fresh beef test run by McDonald’s is raising awareness and credibility for its own longstanding campaign to promote its burgers. The fast-food chain gained a 0.6 percent share of customer traffic during the first quarter and same-store sales improved 1.6 percent. Wendy’s posted earnings per share of nine cents, ahead of estimates that were pegged at eight cents.
