Whole Foods workers seek to unionize

September 6, 2018

A group of Whole Foods employees plan to send an email today to fellow associates at most of the chain’s 490 stores to start a drive to unionize. The workers are looking to collective bargaining with Whole Foods and its parent company Amazon.com to help them achieve better compensations and benefits. Amazon has had a contentious relationship with unions in Germany, Poland and Spain and has sought to fend off any organizing activity at its U.S. operations.
