Workers point to inflation in wage negotiations

A growing number of employees have done the math and presented their findings to employers in wage negotiations. Rising inflation has meant higher prices in fuel, food and other items of daily life. “Some people aren’t waiting around to wait to see what kind of wage increases they might be getting, whether it’s an annual evaluation or a merit pay increase,” said Mark Hamrick, a senior analyst at Bankrate. “And that’s why obviously we’ve seen a high level of quits too. And I would expect that to continue for the foreseeable future.”
