Yum CEO bets on drive-throughs and deliveries to achieve growth
January 4, 2021
David Gibbs, CEO of Yum Brands, acknowledges that the company’s Pizza Hut business did not move quickly enough during the pandemic, forcing many locations that relied on dine-in to close. Yum, he said, has made a quick pivot to address present day realities, putting it on a road to growth to serve consumers who prefer to eat their meals outside the restaurant. Mr. Gibbs has said the chain has started testing five multiple drive-through locations and offering curbside pickup as well.
