Krispy Kreme Doughnut Giveaway: What We Know

July 1, 2024

Krispy Kreme has announced that it will be giving away coffee and doughnuts to customers all throughout the month of July. Each week, the free doughnuts will vary in flavor and theme, but many rewards will only be available to Rewards app members.

Here are more details on how consumers can take advantage of these summertime deals.

Krispy Kreme Giveaways in July: What We Know

According to USA Today, Krispy Kreme is already giving away free doughnuts on the Fourth of July. The outlet confirmed that the free sweet treats will be in red, white, and blue in celebration of America’s independence from British rule. These doughnuts are part of the brand’s Star-Spangled Sweetness Collection.

Additionally, customers who appear at their nearest participating Krispy Kreme location wearing red, white, and blue on the holiday can get a free glazed doughnut with their purchase. No Rewards app is necessary to participate in this promotion.

But the free goodies don’t end there. In a separate report from USA Today, the company shared that Rewards members will receive free doughnuts every Tuesday, and a free iced coffee every Friday, beginning on Tuesday, July 2. The free doughnuts on July 2 come from the aforementioned Star-Spangled Sweetness Collection: the Firework Cookies & Kreme Filled Doughnut, Cotton Candy Sparkler Doughnut, and Freedom Flag Doughnuts.

The free coffee on Fridays is available in any size.

However, customers who wish to take advantage of these promotions must purchase a product to get their free reward.

The July 9 free doughnuts come from the Kit-Kat Collection: Kit Kat Crunch Doughnut, Kit Kat Cookie Dream Doughnut, and Kit Kat Salted Caramel Brownie Doughnut. Free doughnuts for subsequent weeks will be revealed on the official Krispy Kreme website in the weeks to come.

Collaborations Abound

Krispy Kreme has always participated in popular promotions and collaborations. Late last month, the doughnut franchise announced its limited-time collaboration with the popular television show, “Friends.”

The partnership between the two organizations was formally announced on June 17 and is exclusively accessible within the United Kingdom. Snackolator shared some of the early designs for the branded sweet treats on Instagram.

However, longstanding viewers of the 2004-canceled series have expressed a great deal of displeasure over the Krispy Kreme and “Friends” partnership. Their indignation stems from the fact that, despite the show’s well-known New York City setting, the doughnuts are exclusively sold in the United Kingdom.

But other Krispy Kreme collaborations have been welcomed by consumers. In March, it was revealed that the company will make its doughnuts available for purchase throughout all McDonald’s locations by the end of 2026.

At McDonald’s restaurants across the country, fresh doughnuts will be served every day in a gradual rollout starting in late 2024 and are anticipated to be available nationally by the end of 2026.

In the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, regions, 160 McDonald’s locations participated in a test run of this collaboration, which proved to be successful.

McDonald’s USA’s chief marketing and customer experience officer, Tariq Hassan, stated that the firm has consistently introduced new menu items, flavors, and experiences since the fast-food chain’s breakfast products were introduced 50 years ago. An “exciting next step in that journey and a chance to unlock new business opportunities in the breakfast category and throughout the day,” according to Hassan, is what McDonald’s collaboration with Krispy Kreme represents.

“The top request we receive from consumers, every day, is, ‘please bring Krispy Kreme to my town.’ Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme,” said Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth in a statement announcing the collaboration.
