Kroger Celebrates Summer Solstice With Free Ice Cream

June 12, 2024

As the summer solstice approaches, Kroger is ready to celebrate with a delightful offer to help customers beat the heat. On Thursday, June 20, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, Kroger will be giving away 45,000 pints of their own brand of ice cream. This exciting promotion aims to bring some cool relief during the summer’s peak.

The summer solstice marks the first day of summer and is known for having the longest period of daylight. Kroger has taken this unique occasion to spread joy by offering free ice cream. For 900 minutes, the grocer will distribute 50 pints of ice cream every minute, allowing thousands of customers to indulge in a sweet treat during the 15 hours of daylight.

To take advantage of this offer, customers need to visit FreeKrogerIceCream.com on June 20 to download a single-use digital coupon. This coupon, available only on the day of the solstice, is valid while supplies last. The digital coupon can be redeemed for any pint of Kroger brand ice cream, including popular flavors like Mint Chocolate Chip, Vivid Vanilla, and Kroger Brand Deluxe Tie Dye Burst.

However, it’s important to note that this promotion is not available in all states. Residents of the following states will not be able to participate: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming. For those who can, the coupon can be redeemed at a variety of Kroger Family of Stores locations, including Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Ralphs, and Smith’s Food and Drug, according to USA Today.

For those looking to enjoy and celebrate the beginning of summer this year, Kroger’s free ice cream giveaway seems to hit the mark. Currently, Kroger has over 2,750 grocery stores in 35 states across the nation. Make sure to always check with your local Kroger location to make sure it is supporting this promotion.
