2020 was worst year for American economy going back to WWII

The U.S. economy shrank 3.5 percent in 2020, making it the worst year for growth in the U.S. since 1946, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The year’s economic performance also marked the first time that the economy has shrunk since 2009, during the Great Recession.
