7-Eleven & Green Day Have Partnered for a New Slurpee, Proving Celebrity Partnerships Are Working

7-Eleven has partnered with Green Day, who just received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, for a new Slurpee that will be as iconic as the punk band that inspired it.
In a press release, the convenience store chain announced that it has collaborated with Punk Bunny and Green Day to introduce Kerplunk Kandy Grape, a brand-new, limited-edition Slurpee flavor. A tribute to the band’s 1992 album “Kerplunk!”, this new flavor combines the sweetness of cotton candy with the taste of juicy grapes.
The next drop has been anticipated since Punk Bunny Coffee’s exclusive 7-Eleven launch in 2024. Mike Dirnt’s Turn Up the Bass Medium Roast, Punk Bunny Cold Brew Caramel Latte, and Chocolate Almond Specialty Latte are the three new exclusive Punk Bunny coffee variations that 7-Eleven and Green Day are introducing at participating locations.
“I have great memories of getting Slurpee drinks with my friends. It’s always perfect on a good day or even a bad one. Being able to create our own custom Punk Bunny flavor and bring it to everyone across the country has been an amazing moment,” Billie Joe Armstrong shared in the press release.
To celebrate the launch of a new Slurpee flavor, 7-Eleven is rolling out music-inspired drink accessories at select locations. Customers can pick up limited-edition cups and custom straws equipped with built-in Bluetooth speakers, turning every Slurpee into a mini jam session. Each cup includes a QR code that links to a curated Spotify playlist from Green Day.
“Our first launch with Green Day and Punk Bunny was so exciting for customers because they loved seeing music and coffee culture collide in such a unique way,” added Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president, chief marketing & sustainability officer at 7-Eleven, Inc. “Now, we’re channeling that same punk spirit into our iconic Slurpee drink. Kerplunk Kandy Grape is rooted in the band’s story, and we can’t wait for fans to experience this one-of-a-kind flavor.”
Green Day’s Partnership With 7-Eleven Is the Latest Successful Celebrity Collaboration
7-Eleven and Green Day’s partnership is just the latest successful celebrity collaboration. Recently, OREO teamed up with Post Malone for a similarly successful partnership.
The cookie, which is available in stores nationwide as of Feb. 3 until supplies run out, blends shortbread and salted caramel flavors between a traditional OREO chocolate cookie and a golden cookie.
Each sandwich cookie has one of nine hand-picked embellishments inspired by Malone’s music. These include a butterfly that symbolizes his vinyl album “Twelve Carat Toothache” and a sunflower that pays homage to his record-breaking Double Diamond single “Sunflower.” On the back of each pack is a handwritten, signed note.
