Personal incomes and consumer spending fell in March

Consumer spending fell 7.5 percent as personal incomes declined two percent in March, according to the Commerce Department. The nation’s gross domestic product fell 4.8 percent for the first three months of 2020. Consumer spending represents 70 percent of U.S. economic activity.
