U.S. consumer confidence dipped slightly in January, but that isn’t having a major dampening effect on big ticket spending as Americans plan to purchase autos, homes and other items, according to the Conference Board. “While consumer confidence dipped this month, consumers generally have faith in the strength of this recovery,” said Robert Frick, corporate economist with Navy Federal Credit Union.
