SEC proposal would mandate greenhouse gas emissions reports

The Securities and Exchange Commission has approved a proposed rule that would require publicly traded companies to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions. The rules piggyback on pledges made by companies in recent years to reduce their carbon footprints. Many companies currently include greenhouse gas emissions in their annual environmental reports.
