Americans tip big as restaurants raise prices

Restaurant customers tipped an average of 19.6 percent on their bills at full-service restaurants, while quick-service patrons added 16.9 percent to their bills, according to Toast. The average cost for a restaurant meal increased 7.6 percent for the 12 months ending in July.
