Amazon has lost market share for the Prime Day shopping holiday it invented. Walmart is setting itself up for a bigger slice of those sales.
July 11, 2023
Walmart is planning to compete with Amazon Prime Day with a four-day shopping event called Walmart+ Weekend that will take place July 10-13, 2023, and offer discounts on a variety of products, including electronics, home goods, and apparel. Walmart+ members will have early access to the deals, but anyone can take advantage of the discounts after the first day. This event is part of Walmart’s efforts to compete with Amazon Prime Day, one of the biggest shopping events of the year, and it’s not the only retailer trying to compete — Target Circle Week runs from July 9-15, and Best Buy’s Black Friday in July savings event runs from July 10-12.
