Exploding Kittens Reimagines Preschool Games Category With New ‘Kitten Games’ Line

Exploding Kittens

Exploding Kittens, a renowned gaming and entertainment company, has unveiled an exciting new line of tabletop games called Kitten Games, specifically designed for children aged 4 and up. The collection features four titles: I Want My Teeth Back, Hurry Up Chicken Butt, The Best Worst Ice Cream, and My Parents Might Be Martians. This marks a significant milestone for the brand as it ventures into the preschool games category, aiming to inject fresh and enjoyable experiences into a genre that has long awaited a revamp.

The inspiration for Kitten Games came from Exploding Kittens’ CEO and Co-Creator, Elan Lee, who wanted to provide his own 4-year-old daughter, Avalon, with engaging and educational games. Frustrated with the existing options, Lee and his daughter crafted their own games using paper, markers, and stickers. The result is a collection of games that cater to both kids and parents, promoting good sportsmanship and offering different challenges based on age and ability.

Each game in the Kitten Games lineup incorporates Exploding Kittens’ signature cartoon-style characters and illustrations, reimagined to captivate a younger audience. I Want My Teeth Back introduces strategy elements, Hurry Up Chicken Butt adds a twist to the classic “hot potato” concept, The Best Worst Ice Cream combines luck and skill, and My Parents Might Be Martians is a junior version of Exploding Kittens’ popular Poetry for Neanderthals game.

Avalon, now 5 years old, expressed her enjoyment of the game creation process, particularly drawing funny characters like the earthworm and pizza ice cream. She and her family now play their games every night, and she even has the opportunity to teach her friends how to play.

Kitten Games not only entertain but also offer developmental benefits such as decision-making, creativity, pattern recognition, and family bonding. The instruction manuals are designed for easy comprehension, and gameplay typically lasts around 10 minutes. The collection will be available for purchase at Target starting July 30 and on ExplodingKittens.com from August 1, with prices ranging from $14.99 to $19.99.
