Netspend Launches New X World Wallet™ During Inaugural Leagues Cup Soccer Tournament

Netspend has unveiled its new X World Wallet™, a multicurrency travel wallet and payments super app, as the official debit card of Leagues Cup, which runs from July 21 to August 19. All 47 MLS and LIGA MX clubs will compete in Leagues Cup matches. The X World Wallet™, developed by Rêv, provides consumers with a multicurrency account for sending, spending, and exchanging funds, with physical card, virtual card, and tap-to-pay options available for worldwide use where Visa debit cards are accepted. The app is downloadable for U.S. residents from Apple and Google Play.

Roy Sosa, Netspend’s chairman, CEO, and co-founder, highlighted the partnership’s alignment with catering to multicultural consumers with connections in multiple places, making it an opportunity to directly engage and adapt products to meet their needs. The campaign will feature 30-second spots airing on Apple TV, TelevisaUnivision, Jumbotron displays at matches, and digital signage at stadiums, with a “Score Big” Sweepstakes offering fans a chance to win a VIP game experience when they download and sign up for the X World Wallet™.

Leagues Cup is part of the successful partnership between MLS and LIGA MX, promoting collaboration, growth of the game in North America, and positive change in the communities of both leagues. The X World Wallet™ Visa Debit cards, issued by Texas First Bank, offer a no credit check, no application, and reloadable option, without offline or online purchase transaction fees or foreign conversion fees when using the card(s).
