The Swoondle Society | ShopTomorrows

In a strategic move, The Swoondle Society, a pioneering player in the trade-based clothing resale industry, has acquired ShopTomorrows, a prominent childrenswear resale marketplace. With this acquisition, Swoondle solidifies its position as the nation’s leading trade-based apparel platform.

The merger opens up significant opportunities for Swoondle as it gains access to ShopTomorrows’ extensive customer base, primarily consisting of parents. By expanding its product selection and bolstering its social impact, Swoondle aims to tackle the pressing issue of reducing the massive 15.1 million tons of annual fashion waste.

Jen Zuklie, founder and CEO of Swoondle, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, emphasizing the shared mission and vision between the two companies. Leveraging ShopTomorrows’ expertise, including its CEO, Haley Lieberman, a sustainable fashion thought-leader and former fashion stylist, Swoondle aims to enhance sustainability and circularity in the children’s apparel market.

Both Swoondle and ShopTomorrows were established to address the challenge of handling outgrown clothing sustainably. Swoondle’s model encourages customers to trade-in high-quality, pre-loved items, earning credits for future purchases, thereby promoting the circular economy and significantly reducing textile waste. With combined resources, they aim to become the leading platform for buying and trading-up secondhand childrenswear, positioning themselves to scale their market share and better serve their community.

Swoondle has ambitious plans to tap into the $68 billion annual children’s clothing market in the U.S., expanding its B2B trade-in and resale presence to complement its already dominant position in the B2C category. The company collaborates with various businesses, including Piccolina, Mightly, Classic Prep Childrenswear, and Rockets of Awesome, and supports Rylee & Cru and JuJuBe’s brand-direct and trade-in programs through a strategic arrangement with Treet-enabled resale
