Aldi To Acquire Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s Supermarket
August 17, 2023
Aldi has announced its agreement to acquire Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket from Southeastern Grocers in an all-cash deal for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition covers approximately 400 Winn-Dixie and Harveys locations in five Southeastern states, and it is expected to close in the first half of 2024, subject to regulatory approval. This move represents a departure from Aldi’s traditional small-store model and is part of its aggressive growth trajectory, with potential rebranding decisions and the aim to compete more effectively against rivals like Publix.
