Amazon’s New Leased Retail Space in Washington Is Complete
March 27, 2024
The latest addition to downtown Bellevue, Washington, is Vulcan Real Estate’s West Main project, leased by Amazon. Completed recently, this development spans three towers, covering a whopping 1,030,000 square feet of office and retail space. Situated at 117 106th Ave. Northeast, the complex boasts a modern architectural design and a strategic location.
Comprising two 17-story towers flanking a 16-story central tower, West Main is ingeniously organized around a shared podium and thru-block. Approximately 34,000 square feet of retail space grace the podium, seamlessly integrating the complex into Bellevue’s bustling retail scene.
Landscape design by GGN enhances the street-level experience, facilitating a smooth transition from downtown Bellevue’s commercial core to the charming old town area. The area is adorned with art installations by local Pacific Northwest artists, harmonizing with the architectural elements and adding aesthetic appeal.
Accessibility and sustainability are core principles of West Main’s design. With LEED Gold certification in sight, the development prioritizes pedestrian-friendliness and offers convenient access to major freeways and public transportation hubs, including the Bellevue Transit Center and nearby light rail stations.
Graphite Design Group and Compton Design Office collaborated on the project’s design, ensuring a blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal. Tech giant Amazon has already leased the complex, with its employees settling into the first tower, dubbed “Dynamo.”
In addition to housing Amazon’s expanding workforce, West Main hosts a lineup of renowned hospitality names. Among them is La Mar Cebucheria Peruana, set to open its doors in the summer of 2024. Spanning 10,000 square feet, the restaurant will feature indoor and outdoor seating, a terrace, a ceviche bar, and an open kitchen concept. It promises to be a culinary haven adorned with Peruvian artwork, further enriching Bellevue’s diverse dining scene.
With its striking architecture, prime location, and array of amenities, West Main Towers stands tall as a testament to Bellevue’s urban evolution and promises to be a focal point of the city’s landscape for years to come.
