Amazon Prime Day Returns: Here Are the Dates

June 25, 2024

Dates for one of the most anticipated days on Amazon’s yearly calendar have been released. It’s time for Amazon Prime Day.

Beginning July 16 and continuing through July 17, shoppers will find deep discounts on major items from leading retailers. Amazon’s website reveals that its Prime members will enjoy exclusive access to millions of great deals.

During Prime Day, new deals will drop as often as every five minutes during select periods, so shoppers will have to keep on the lookout for new discounts during the 48-hour event.

Plus, Prime members can participate in invite-only deals and sign up now by requesting an invitation from an item’s product page. These deals are exclusive sales limited to those with an Amazon Prime membership, and according to the announcement, “Members who are selected will be notified via email during Prime Day with instructions on how to purchase the item at the exclusive deal price.”

“Prime Day is a celebration of the value we bring to members all year long, and features millions of deals across more than 35 product categories as well as discounts on Amazon devices, quality entertainment, groceries, travel, and more during the event,” said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime.

He added, “In fact, over the course of last year, Amazon customers saved nearly $24 billion from deals and coupons—with Prime members enjoying the vast majority of those savings—including over $2.5 billion during Prime Day 2023.”

To celebrate the upcoming event, Megan Thee Stallion has debuted her original song, “It’s Prime Day,” and kicked off the day with a music video.

Currently, Amazon is running deals ahead of Prime Day’s debut. These include deep discounts on TVs, tech gear, lawn and garden products, outdoor items, auto items, and more.

Prime Day 2023 took place July 11-12. The first day of Prime Day, July 11, was the company’s single most significant sales day in its history. Prime members purchased over 375 million items in just two days and saved over $2.5 billion on millions of deals across the Amazon store, helping make it the biggest Prime Day event ever.

Prime Day began on July 15, 2015, to celebrate Prime members on Amazon’s 20th birthday.
