Disney Cruise Line Orders 4 More Ships to Its Ever-Growing Roster

August 13, 2024

The Disney Cruise Line is growing ever larger, with four more ships added to the company’s fleet of floating experiences.

The Disney Parks Blog reports that the announcement was made during the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase. There, the company revealed that four more ships would join the existing ones in the company’s fleet. These new ships will arrive between 2027 and 2031. Thus far, the ship names, designs, and exciting itineraries are still in development.

These four additional ships will bring the fleet to 13. These cruises are known for bringing passengers the Disney experience, including delicious meals, shopping, full-length productions, and other onboard excitement.

“At Disney Experiences, Imagineers dream, create, design and build these stories into real places. And we have Imagineers in place right now all around the world because everything we’re going to share with you is in active development. Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving,” Josh D’Amaro, the chairman of Disney Experiences, said during the showcase.

D’Amaro also announced that “Disney Hercules” will debut on the Disney Destiny in 2025 as the signature production. Additionally, he shared a first look at a new rendering from “Disney The Tale of Moana,” which will premiere on the Disney Treasure later this year. D’Amaro revealed that this onboard stage production adapted from the classic animated film will feature a 15-foot-tall puppet version of the fiery Te Kā.

“I’ve had a chance to see this in person, and it is stunning,” D’Amaro said, adding that the puppet was “the largest we’ve ever produced for a Disney Cruise Line show.”

Travel + Leisure reported that the Disney Cruise Line currently operates sailings to the following ports of call, including the Caribbean, Mexico, the Bahamas, Tortola and St. Thomas, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. The ships will also sail to Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and California’s Catalina Island.

In 2025, the Disney Adventure and Disney Destiny will join the fleet of ships, along with the Disney Treasure.
