McDonald’s Teams Up With ‘Genshin Impact’ for App-Exclusive Promotion

McDonald’s has teamed up with “Genshin Impact” for an in-app-exclusive promotion for its loyal customers. “Genshin Impact” is an open-world adventure RPG created by Singapore-based company HoYoverse where players embark on a journey across a fantasy world called Teyvat. The Game features an anime-style open-world environment and an action-based battle system using what the game calls elemental magic, as well as character switching.
According to Nation’s Restaurant News, the collaboration allows users of the McDonald’s app to earn in-game rewards and limited-edition menu items available only through the chain’s app. Specifically, from Sept. 17 through Sept. 29, fans can order a Genshin Impact Apple Pie. This warm treat will have limited-edition packaging featuring two characters from the game: Kaedehara Kazuha and Beidou.
By purchasing the pie, players will be rewarded with digital items such as 40 Primogems, three exclusive Golden Apple Pastries, and a “Golden Apple Pastry” recipe that can enhance players’ combat strengths during their Teyvat adventures.
In a McDonald’s Instagram post, other features that can be unlocked were also revealed. These include two Hero’s Wit, 20,000 Mora, and four Mystic Enhancement Ore. Users who order a McCrispy Deluxe Combo Meal can unlock an exclusive wind glider and a custom name card.
The chain’s “Genshin Impact” promotion comes shortly after McDonald’s announced a collaboration with the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. This collaboration resulted in a high-demand Special Grade Garlic dipping sauce.
McDonald’s customers can only get each of these rewards a single time, and app users will need to enable email notifications and rewards in the McDonald’s app to be eligible for participation. A promo code will be sent to you after ordering, so don’t forget to opt into these settings before purchasing.
The personal promotional codes in “Genshin Impact” grant access to these items via an in-game mailbox. According to Sports Illustrated, codes received via this collaboration expire after Oct. 29, 2024.
