Chipotle Teams Up With Max Homa for Its First-Ever Chip Challenge

September 22, 2024

Chipotle has announced that it’s teaming up with viral internet sensation Max Homa to launch its first-ever #ChipotleChipChallenge.

A press release announcement revealed that professional golfer Max Homa is now trying to roast the fast-food chain’s patrons as part of the promo. Homa is well-known for roasting other golfers, famous sportsmen, and fans online.

Golf enthusiasts may enter the nine-week #ChipotleChipChallenge to win incredible prizes by sharing their finest chip shots on social media.

Fans can upload user-generated videos of their chip shots to their channels on Instagram, Tiktok, or X and tag @Chipotle and @Skratch in the caption, or they can send user-generated videos of their chip shots straight to Skratch via DM. Entry dates are Sept. 17 to Oct. 11.

Entries are accepted in two categories: “Backyard,” which is for more inventive chips, and “Recoveries,” which is for traditional chip shots. Throughout the nine-week campaign, the three entities will choose the top eight videos for each of the two categories, and Max will lightheartedly criticize each video on social media. The two Chipotle Chip competition champions, one for each category, will be chosen by a public vote at the end of the competition.

Each submitter of the eight chips that Max chooses to roast will receive a gift card. The two overall winners will receive a year’s worth of free Chipotle as well as a trip to either the PLAYERS Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, or the WM Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2025 for themselves and a guest, all expenses paid.

Chipotle Brings Back Fan Favorites

This is just the latest way that the fast-food giant is looking to tantalize its customers.

Earlier this month, the chain announced that Smoked Brisket has returned as of Tuesday, Sept. 10. Chipotle’s fan-favorite menu item, which debuted three years ago, has been a popular item that customers want to see returned year after year.

If you’re interested in trying smoked brisket for the first time, Nevielle Panthaky, vice president of culinary, recommends the Smoked Brisket Burrito Bowl, which comes with white rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa, and cheese.

“We are listening to our guests and bringing this fan-favorite menu innovation out of the vault after three years,” said Chris Brandt, chief brand officer, in a statement accompanying a press release. “This premium protein is sure to delight guests looking to taste the difference of brisket prepared the Chipotle way.”
