Pizza Hut Is Giving Away 1 Million Free Pizzas in Honor of BOOK IT! Anniversary

October 3, 2024

Pizza Hut delighted Gen Xers all over the country with its recent BOOK IT! announcement, as the pizza giant has unveiled its latest free pizza promotion in honor of the popular program’s 40th anniversary.

In a press release, it was revealed that Pizza Hut will be giving away 1 million free pizzas throughout the month of October, which is also National Book Month.

Millions of children have been inspired to read since the BOOK IT! program began in 1984. Now, readers of all ages are invited to join the celebration with a special offer of a free Personal Pan Pizza (with an $8 minimum purchase) for anyone who embraces the joy of reading.

Customers can use the code “BOOKIT40” online or on the app at checkout to redeem the offer through Oct. 30 or until 1 million Personal Pan Pizzas have been claimed.

Pizza Hut has modified its BOOK IT! initiative in recent years to better meet the demands of contemporary education. To further facilitate participation, the company now provides virtual classrooms and digital reading logs for families and schools. Encouraging parents and educators to enroll their children at www.bookitprogram.com, the program is still entirely free. By doing so, you can make sure that future generations will continue to enjoy the benefits of reading and the reading tradition.

Pizza Hut Has Previously Engaged in Clever Promotions

The BOOK IT! promotion is just the latest clever promotion that Pizza Hut has offered.

Last month, the pizza chain introduced “ResZAmes,” a new service meant to help professionals stand out in the cutthroat job market of today by sending their resumes to potential employers via the company’s iconic pizza boxes.

Job seekers in the most competitive job market, New York City, might leave a memorable impression with ResZAmes. Through Sept. 22, they were able to submit applications to have their resume printed directly onto a pizza box and have it delivered for free to the corporate headquarters of their choice. Each ResZAme pizza box comes with a medium-sized cheese pizza.

“We know finding a job can be daunting especially during this key hiring season, so we wanted to lend a hand to our job seeking customers and help them break through the clutter,” said Pizza Hut’s chief marketing officer, Melissa Friebe, in a statement accompanying the press release. “By combining Pizza Hut’s iconic pizza boxes with job seekers’ resumes, we are hoping to help resumes drum up the same excitement as office pizza and help the applicant make a lasting impression. Who could possibly ignore a resume when it is delivered as a delicious pizza?”
