Del Taco Announces the New $5 Mucho Meal and the Return of the Cookie Butter Shake

October 4, 2024

Del Taco has announced the return of a popular dessert shake and a discount deal that’s sure to throw a bone in the ongoing “fast-food wars.”

A press release announced the debut of its new Del’s Mucho Meal, which offers customers four brand-new meal combos to select from and more of their favorite foods at a discounted price, starting at just under $5.

“At Del Taco, we know our guests are looking for great value without sacrificing flavor or freshness,” said Tom Rose, president of Del Taco, in a statement accompanying the press release. “In a world where it’s hard to find a robust menu under $5, we’re proud to offer real, high-quality food at unbeatable prices. Our NEW Del’s Mucho Meal prove that you can enjoy the best of both worlds — freshness and flavor at a price that works for everyone.”

A Mini Cinnamon Churro, small Crinkle Cut Fries, and a 16-ounce Fountain Drink are included in each Del’s Mucho Meal, with the option to upgrade to medium or macho (large) fries and drink. The meals start at $4.49 for the Snack Taco Mucho Meal, which comes with two Snack Tacos. Customers can also try the B&C Burrito Mucho Meal for $5.49, the Double Taco Mucho Meal for $6.49, and the Chicken Lover’s Mucho Meal for $7.49.

The casual Mexican dining chain also announced the return of the Cookie Butter Shake for a limited time. This is a delectable treat that everyone must try. It’s made with real Biscoff Cookie Butter and crunchy Biscoff Cookie Crumbles mixed into a creamy vanilla shake.

Del Taco & Danny Trejo Have Collaborated

Back in August, the “Machete” star Danny Trejo, whose Trejo’s Tacos eateries in Southern California have become huge hits with discriminating diners, and Del Taco announced a new partnership.

It was reported that the new Roasted Pork Al Pastor, which is currently available at Del Taco restaurants across the nation, is the outcome of Trejo’s Tacos and the fast-food chain’s collaboration. The fire-roasted pork is marinated with traditional spices like chipotle, onions, garlic, and sweet pineapple juice to achieve the ideal blend of salty, spicy, and sweet flavors.

“Teaming up with Del Taco to roll out this Roasted Pork Al Pastor is like sharing a piece of my roots with everyone,” said Trejo, in a statement accompanying the announcement. “This isn’t just about flavor — it’s about putting my heart and soul into every bite. I’m excited for folks to taste the bold, authentic flavors that mean so much to me, now at a Del Taco near you.”
