Wawa Offering Free Coffee & Other Treats at New NJ Location

October 11, 2024

Wawa has announced that it will be offering free coffee and other treats at its new location in Piscataway, New Jersey, which is officially opening on Friday, Oct. 11.

According to NJ 101.5, the most recent store to open is in the New Jersey suburb of Piscataway, and there will be celebrations and freebies for patrons. At 421 Stelton Road and South Washington Ave. in Piscataway, there will be grand opening festivities starting at 7:45 a.m. today. Community leaders and the mascot Wally Goose will be there. The New Market Fire Company and the Piscataway Police Department will compete in a hoagie-building event called “Hoagies for Heroes” starting at 8 a.m.

The convenience store is also giving away free 60th anniversary T-shirts to the first 100 customers, and free hot coffee is available all day. The second store in Piscataway is on Stelton Road. There’s another location on New Durham Ave.

Additionally, the company has also announced that a second new site in Middlesex County will open next. The construction on an empty lot was just approved by the local planning authority, but no start date has been specified.

There are currently around 300 Wawa stores in New Jersey.

Wawa x Jason Kelce

In recent times, the convenience shop has engaged in some strategic partnerships to increase its popularity.

Over the summer, Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie, partnered with Wawa to “wing it” while getting ready for their children to go back to school. The parents of three daughters have teamed up with Wawa for their latest commercial, which offers a funny look into their frenzied home life. They understand what it’s like to confront hectic mornings.

With Jason’s NFL retirement, the family is acclimating to a new normal and injecting comedy into their updated duties as a family. By helming a new Wawa commercial featuring her famous husband Jason, Kylie took a professional risk. With Wawa’s assistance, he becomes a full-time dad in the video by learning how to do basic chores like making lunches.

Todd Miller, senior director of brand strategy for Wawa, said of the lighthearted take on the Kelce family’s life, “Our purpose is to Fulfill Lives, and when Kylie expressed interest in exploring potential career interests by helping us direct our commercial, we were happy to have her as a wing mate in the creative process!”
