Popeyes Debuts Cajun-Style Turkey Ahead of Thanksgiving Season

Popeyes has unveiled its latest menu item ahead of the upcoming Thanksgiving season.
In an official blog post announcement, it was revealed that the fast-food giant has released its new Cajun-Style Turkey as of Wednesday, October 16th. Hand-rubbed and seasoned with the chain’s signature Louisiana-style seasonings for a flavorful, robust taste that will wow. The Thanksgiving table centerpiece is perfection, and it’s the ideal combination of ease and the restaurant’s signature flavor.
“But Thanksgiving dinner is only as good as the sides you serve, and don’t worry, we’re here to help with our vast offerings that meet the cravings of your classic Thanksgiving dinner!” the restaurant announced. “Whether you prefer our Homestyle Mac & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes with Cajun Gravy, or even just our simple and famous Buttermilk Biscuit, Popeyes can save your Turkey day!”

Popeyes Previously Added Ghost Pepper Chicken
The fast-food chain previously added the spicy Ghost Pepper Chicken sandwich to its menu earlier this month. It features “slow burning, chili-infused Ghost Pepper sauce” atop its classic Louisiana-inspired crispy chicken fillet. The company is calling the new offering “scary good” without being “scary spicy.”
Amy Alarcon, VP of culinary innovation at Popeyes, wrote of the new sandwich topper, “When we were thinking of what flavor would be perfect for our next Chicken Sandwich, the answer was right in front of us. When we launched our wings platform, we used our Ghost Pepper flavor as the base for all of our wings.”
She continued, “Marinated in a dry spice blend before they’re hand breaded and fried to a perfect crunch, our wings are the perfect balance of flavor and fire. We knew this flavor profile was already a fan favorite and crowd pleaser, so why not take it and turn it into a sandwich?”
Following the launch of the company’s Golden BBQ sandwich in May, Popeyes’ chicken sandwich has evolved naturally into a variety of flavors. The chain’s Golden BBQ sandwich has flavors that are rich, sweet, acidic, and zesty—the exact opposite of the spice found in its recently released Ghost Pepper offering.
