Kodiak Frozen Waffle Recall Over Potential Listeria Contamination

October 22, 2024

Kodiak Frozen Waffles have been recalled over a potential listeria contamination. The popular breakfast items are just one brand listed in a lengthy recall list from TreeHouse Foods, Inc.

“TreeHouse Foods, Inc. is expanding its voluntary recall to include all products manufactured at one facility and still within their shelf-life. The recall is expanded to include frozen toaster waffles, Belgian waffles, and pancake products,” the company states. The extensive list is found within Tree House Foods’ official statement.

These products are sold by many different retailers, including Albertson’s, ALDI, Dollar General, Foodhold, HEB, Kroger, Publix, Target, and Walmart. All Lot Codes in this recall will begin with 2C.

A secondary statement adds that the lot codes for the following products are included in this recall: Kodiak Cubs Adventure Waffles, Cinnamon; Kodiak Power Waffles, Buttermilk and Vanilla; Kodiak Power Waffles, Chocolate Chip; Kodiak Power Waffles, Double Dark Chocolate; Kodiak Thick and Fluffy Power Waffles, Buttermilk; Kodiak Thick and Fluffy Power Waffles, Blueberry; Kodiak Thick and Fluffy Power Waffles, Chocolate Chip; and Kodiak Cubs Adventure Waffles, Original.

Some Kodiak Products Are Not Part of the Recall

Not all Kodiak Products are part of the recall. There are many items that are not contaminated with listeria.

These items include: Kodiak Power Cakes Flapjack & Waffle Mix, Kodiak Oatmeal, Kodiak Bars (Chewy, Crunchy, and Breakfast Bars), Kodiak Cups (Flapjack, Oatmeal, Muffin, and Brownie Cups), Kodiak Baking Mixes, and Kodiak French Toast Sticks.

Also not on the recall list are Kodiak Flapjack Puffs, Kodiak Power Flapjacks, Kodiak Cubs Adventure Flapjacks, and Kodiak Power Waffles – Blueberry, Gluten Free, and the 40-count Buttermilk and Vanilla purchased at Costco.

The statement continued, “We sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience this may cause. We value the trust you place in us to provide high-quality products, and your health and safety are always our top priority. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact our customer service team at flapjacks@kodiakcakes.com or by phone at (385) 231-1342. Our team is here to help guide you through the process.”

There have been no confirmed reports of illness linked to the recalled products to date. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider. Consumers should check their freezers for any of the products listed above and dispose of them or return the recalled product to the place of purchase for credit.
