Starbucks Unveils New Holiday Cup Designs
November 5, 2024
Starbucks has unveiled its latest holiday cup designs, keeping up with an annual tradition that has delighted patrons for years.
A press release announcement revealed that the stores will be “home for the holidays” on Nov. 7, and the coffee giant was eager to tell the tale of this year’s stunning and colorful selection of cups.
The team was motivated to attempt to make “every sip a joyful one,” according to Kristy Cameron, the company’s creative director for this year’s holiday cup designs.
“We love finding these genuine moments of joy and coffee to inspire the creative,” Cameron said in a statement accompanying the press release. “Whether that’s coffee trees growing, beans roasting, cups toasting, or lights glowing — we wanted to share the warmth of our coffeehouse and the anticipation of the red cups arriving with our customers and partners.”
This year, the theme is “Merrier Together.” Cameron explained, “We kept thinking about this notion of voices coming together, like our siren singing. It feels musical in a way.”
Soft pastels with fondant-inspired hues mixed with well-known tints of Starbucks green and cranberry red create a whimsical color scheme that establishes the festive mood.
“We’re really excited to lean into greens this year,” she continued. “The jade green is so vibrant and bright, and we love how it references our brand colors in a way that brings a spark of joy to our holiday cups this season.”
Starbucks Makes a Return to ‘Being Human’
Starbucks has long been renowned for its creative coffee beverages, baked items, and baristas’ ability to adjust to the requirements of their patrons. In order to humanize its fleet of stores once again, the corporation is now incorporating Sharpies into the mix.
Starbucks’ new CEO, Brian Niccol, has been making major changes to the firm’s food, atmosphere, and customer experience after the company reported a third quarter of dropping revenue. He stopped charging customers for non-dairy drink substitutes like oat milk, soymilk, and almond milk and removed goods that were unpopular with patrons (the doomed Oleato).
He is now seeking to provide his staff with Sharpies, the one tool he feels can restore humanity to the coffee experience. Sharpies are returning to Starbucks shops for the first time in almost four years, taking the place of the digital stickers that gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
