Bloomingdale’s Launches ‘Wicked’ Good Holiday Shop

Legendary department store Bloomingdale’s has announced a holiday partnership with Universal Pictures’ “Wicked.”

A Bloomingdale’s press release states, “This collaboration will bring the magic of the holidays to life with a Wicked Good Holiday pop-up. Shoppers can expect an exclusive AQUA collection, an array of products for gifting, immersive in-store experiences, a takeover of the iconic ‘brown bag,’ and an enchanting 59th Street window unveiling.”

The shop features a selection of gifts inspired by the characters and colors of the hotly anticipated feature film “Wicked” starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as Elphaba and Glinda. A vibrant palette of pink, green, and metallic hues will transport shoppers to the land of the Emerald City, where the movie takes place.

The pop-up shop has more than 100 exclusive products and 150 participating brands, according to the press release. These brands include Béis, Mattel, Voluspa, Stoney Clover Lane, Flamingo Estate, Sydney Evan, La Mer, Furbish, and Jonathan Adler. There will also be official products licensed and inspired by “Wicked.”

Adding to the excitement is a partnership with AQUA, created by the Oscar-nominated costume designer of “Wicked,” Paul Tazewell. The collection consists of over 70 items inspired by Glinda and Elphaba.

Bloomingdale’s Unveils Its ‘Wicked’-Inspired Holiday Window Display on Nov. 13

On Nov. 13, Bloomingdale’s will unveil its holiday window display along Lexington Avenue at the 59th Street flagship store. Cynthia Erivo, one of the stars of “Wicked,” will host this exciting event.

The night features performances from Broadway stars Lea Salonga and Tituss Burgess. There will also be a dance presentation by the film’s choreographer Christopher Scott, and an eight-piece orchestra will play instrumental medleys from the film’s soundtrack.

Frank Berman, EVP and chief marketing officer at Bloomingdale’s, stated in the announcement, “Bloomingdale’s comes alive during the holiday season, and this year, we’re more excited than ever for what’s in store. The magic of Wicked will shine through every aspect of the holiday campaign, from our iconic reimagined Santaland, to our lineup of exclusive gifts and products, and our highly anticipated window display. We’re excited to continue to bring joy and wonder into the season for our shoppers.”

The Wicked Good Holiday Shop launches online on Nov. 5, 2024, and in stores on Nov. 7, 2024.
