Burger King Celebrates Loyal Customers: ‘Thanks a Million’ Promo Features 1M Whoppers for $1

Burger King is celebrating its most loyal customers by giving Royal Perks members 1 million original Whoppers for $1.

This new promotion comes on the heels of Burger King’s Million Dollar Whopper Contest. More than 1 million fans of the popular menu item participated in the competition for the chance to see their dream Whopper sandwich on the fast-food chain’s menu.

Only three finalists were chosen, but to thank everyone for participating, Burger King customers who are also Royal Perks members have the opportunity to grab their favorite sandwich for just $1. The promotion’s catchy name? “Thanks a million.”

According to a Burger King press release, members of the Royal Perks customer loyalty program can claim their very own $1 Whopper via the “offers” tab in their BK App.

Pat O’Toole, chief marketing officer at Burger King North America, said, “We couldn’t think of any better way to recognize and celebrate our biggest Whopper lovers than with a special offer that lets everyone feel like a winner. We can’t wait to hear how Guests think these three new creations stack up to the classic and look forward to them ultimately crowning the winner of the $1 million grand prize.”

The three Whopper finalists include a Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, which features a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty, topped with creamy pickle ranch, lettuce, fried pickles, bacon, and Swiss cheese on a toasted sesame seed bun. Next is a Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper featuring the same patty topped with maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions and jalapeños, smoky maple candied bacon, and American cheese. Finally, there’s a Mexican Street Corn Whopper, where the patty is topped with creamy street corn spread, lettuce, tomato, crunchy tortilla crisps, and spicy queso.

“Guests can scan the QR code located on the wrapper of each of the three finalist Million Dollar Whopper Contest sandwiches, prompting them to visit the BK App or bk.com/MDW to choose their favorite and help crown the winner of the $1 million grand prize,” the website instructs.

Burger King’s Royal Perks is a food redemption program where guests can earn crowns and redeem them for rewards. Members earn points, or “crowns” for every $1 spent.

Members earn two times the crowns during their birthday month on all purchases. Additional benefits include access to exclusive offers and deals, a free daily upsize of fries, fountain drinks, hash browns, or coffee, and the opportunity to earn bonus crowns by participating in exclusive online challenges and events.

One-dollar original Whoppers are available starting Nov. 12 while supplies last, and the three Whopper finalists will be available to try starting Nov. 14.
