Taco John’s Brings Queso and Seasonal Favorites Back to the Holiday Menu

November 15, 2024

Taco John’s is getting into the holiday spirit by announcing the return of seasonal favorites and the launch of its queso takeover.

A press release revealed that the Mexican-inspired fast-food chain has brought back three popular seasonal menu items packed with flavor — queso, Apple Grande, and Nachos Navidad — for a short time this winter.

First, queso is back at Taco John’s. Served as an accompaniment or side dish, customers are welcome to dip or dunk any item on the menu in this rich, creamy sauce, which goes well with house-fried, crispy tortilla chips and everything else the restaurant has to offer. Taco John’s queso is the “ultimate cold-weather comfort food,” combining the flavors of three premium cheeses (White Cheddar, Parmesan, and Romano) and three peppers (Hatch chile, jalapeño, and red bell).

The queso is launching with three special menu items to try: Queso Fried Chicken Tacos, Cheesy Queso Boss Burritos, and Queso Nachos Navidad, the latter of which “celebrates the spirit of giving,” according to the chain. Per the press release, “For nearly three decades, participating Taco John’s franchisees have donated proceeds from purchases of Nachos Navidad to worthy causes within their local communities.”

For something sweeter, customers can try the returning Apple Grande, which is “Taco John’s most requested limited-time menu item.” It combines a crispy cinnamon-sugar tortilla topped with warm apple filling, a hint of cinnamon candy spice, and a sprinkling of all-natural Cheddar cheese.

“During this season of giving, we’re thrilled to offer our customers delicious seasonal favorites while also supporting our local communities,” said Kevin Flaherty, Taco John’s chief marketing officer, in a statement accompanying the press release. “With the return of creamy queso, festive Nachos Navidad, and Apple Grande, we wish everyone glad tidings … and tastings!”

For those who want to give the gift of Taco John’s to friends or family this holiday season, they can buy a gift card. Customers who buy $25 worth of gift cards through the end of the year will receive a $5 bonus card that can be used from Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 2025. Additionally, Bigger Bolder Rewards members can check the Taco John’s app for its 12 Days of Deals, which feature freebies and discounts on popular items, as well as for Thankful Thursdays.

Taco John’s Now Offers Catering

Back in September, the Mexican-inspired fast-food chain announced that it was offering catering services to its customers.

Heather Neary, president and CEO, stated in a press release, “We want to expand the occasions where our guests can enjoy Taco John’s. We want to be a part of their special occasions and life events where we are a fresh, flavorful, and delicious part of their celebrations, which is why we are so excited to be launching our catering program. We hope to expand our reach and attract new lovers of the Taco John’s brand.”

“It’s important for us to meet and feed our guests where they are, whether that be at the office, a family gathering, or a local sporting event,” said Korey Love Taylor, director of digital engagement for Taco John’s. “Having the opportunity to be a part of gatherings with our Build Your Own Nacho Bar and Taco Bar is sure to bring Taco John’s to top of mind when thinking of dining out or ordering catering again.”
