Baskin-Robbins Pardons Frozen Turkey Cake in Honor of White House Thanksgiving Tradition

November 25, 2024

Baskin-Robbins spared its own special turkey in honor of the annual White House tradition of pardoning live birds for the Thanksgiving holiday. However, the dessert company added a sweet surprise by giving customers a chance to save on the iconic frozen dessert.

On Nov. 25, 2024, Baskin-Robbins’ “Commander-in-Ice Cream,” Jerid Grandinetti, hosted the formal Turkey Cake Pardon on TikTok and Instagram. To assist Baskin-Robbins’ loyal customers in pardoning their turkeys, the company is dropping a limited-time Turkey Cake discount code (TURKEY).

After Grandinetti pardoned Brie the frozen Turkey Cake, the company invited its followers to swap their traditional turkeys for its iconic Turkey Cake. Guests can pre-order their cake on the Baskin-Robbins app and receive $5 off their purchase with code TURKEY at checkout for a memorable Thanksgiving dessert.

To receive the discount, a cake order must be equal to or greater than $35 before tax. The offer expires on Dec. 2, 2024.

This pardon is a riff on the official White House turkey pardon. This year, President Biden pardoned Peach and Blossom. The feathered friends are named after the Delaware state flower, the peach blossom, which symbolizes resilience.

A Delicious Turkey-Shaped Dessert Isn’t Baskin-Robbins’ Only Holiday Offering

Along with Baskin-Robbins’ delicious turkey-shaped ice cream cake, the company has introduced a unique addition to its menu for a limited time. A savory ice cream is a perfect palate cleanser, and Brie My Guest, November’s flavor of the month, hits the spot.

Inspired by cheeseboard favorites, Brie My Guest is a combination of brie and burrata-flavored ice creams mixed with almonds, pistachio pieces, and apricot swirls. The brie and burrata-flavored ice creams provide subtle savory notes, while almond and pistachio pieces add a delightful crunch.

“Holiday gatherings are about sharing memorable experiences, and our Brie My Guest and Turkey Cake do just that,” said Grandinetti, vice president of marketing & culinary at Baskin-Robbins, in a press release. “Our new Flavor of the Month is a bold twist on the best parts of a cheeseboard that will delight your guests and spark conversation at the table.”

Baskin-Robbins, founded in 1945, is the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, with more than 7,700 retail shops in 33 global markets.
