Jaguar’s New EV Concept Leaked: Pink, With No Rear Window

December 2, 2024

Following the release of a very controversial ad campaign that drew headlines and commentary from a variety of sources, Jaguar’s new EV lineup has become the topic of much conversation.

Now, as Autocar reported, the first concept photos of Jaguar’s upcoming car have been leaked — and the vehicle’s appearance is as bold as the advertisements that preceded it.

Jaguar’s New Car Comes in Pink and Blue and Has No Rear Window

The images shared to X by Autocar illustrate Jaguar’s concept model, and the overall aesthetic is extremely pink. The car boasts a wide frame, slim LED headlights and fog lights, and a horizontal grille.

Although two paint jobs are shown by the automaker in its photos, the pink version is clearly the center of attention, as is the fact that the concept car lacks a rear window entirely. It’s believed that there will be a camera system incorporated so that drivers will be afforded a rear view.

With a notably long hood and a square, angular look to the body, the new Jaguar makes an impressive visual statement. The brand’s new logo is placed on a gold-colored panel by the front driver’s side wheel well.

Horizontal slats seem to be a recurring motif for the new lineup, as Wired noted, with those seen at the rear of the concept car likely hiding the tail lights and turn indicators.

The production car has already been engaging in road tests and is slated to put out a roaring 575 bhp with an estimated range of over 430 miles. For all that, you can expect to pay north of $127,000 when the car eventually hits showrooms in 2026.

Jaguar Concept Car To Be Unveiled During Miami Art Week

Jaguar’s concept car is set to be unveiled during Miami Art Week (spanning Dec. 2 to Dec. 3) and is the capstone to an ad campaign that went viral — perhaps for the wrong reasons.

Critics ranging from Elon Musk to Nigel Farage took to social media to slam the luxury automaker over its latest ad campaign, although execs gestured toward a positive response to the marketing effort, per The Guardian. Gerry McGovern, Jaguar’s chief creative officer, went to bat for the brand’s ads.

“This is a reimagining that recaptures the essence of Jaguar, returning it to the values that once made it so loved, but making it relevant for a contemporary audience,” McGovern said.

Will Jaguar’s efforts bolster the company’s bottom line, even though it’s struggling with a sales slump? Only time will tell.
