Dairy Queen Is Finally Bringing Back Its ‘Most Requested’ Blizzard
January 1, 2025
Dairy Queen has announced the return of what the fast-food giant is calling its “most requested” Blizzard, bringing the people what they want in 2025.
Allrecipes reports that the popular dessert chain allowed fans to vote on social media for the iconic Blizzard flavors that will be served on menus later this year. There was a definite preference among the three options: Georgia Mud Fudge, Cappuccino Heath, and S’mores. Although we were unsure which would be selected, it has been confirmed that S’mores Blizzards will return to menus in 2025.
Since its 2013 release, the S’mores Blizzard has been a beloved treat. Troy Bader, the CEO of Dairy Queen, even ranked it as his personal favorite. Fans can soon savor the chocolatey, creamy, campfire-inspired delight again, as it is anticipated to be re-released as part of Dairy Queen’s summer roster. For those who are not familiar, the S’mores Blizzard consists of crushed graham cracker bits, little chocolate bars loaded with marshmallows, and DQ’s famous soft serve.
The S’mores Blizzard will officially return to nationwide menus in April of this year.
Dairy Queen Offered Freebies To Attract New Customers
Bringing back longtime fan favorites isn’t the only thing that Dairy Queen is doing to attract new customers. Last March, the popular fast-food chain offered freebies.
At participating stores across the United States, the chain distributed complimentary small vanilla cones. As long as supplies lasted, this offer was valid all day and each person could only have one cone. It’s crucial to remember that delivery and mobile orders were not covered by the offer. On March 19, DQ Rewards members also got double points for whatever purchases they made.
“Nothing says warmer weather is around the corner quite like Free Cone Day,” said Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing, at the time. “We’re inviting fans everywhere to grab their friends and families and get their ‘Treat Szn’ started with something sweet — on us.”
The reintroduction of their favorite cherry-dipped cones is likewise highly anticipated by fans. The seasons have affected availability in recent years, with cherry usually returning in the warmer months. Dreamsicle, Fruity Blast, and even a pumpkin-flavored dipped cone are just a few of the varieties Dairy Queen has tried out for their dipped soft-serve cones. But many fans have a particular place in their hearts for cherry-dipped cones, and they look forward to seeing them on the menu again.
