Doritos Names 3 Crash the Super Bowl Finalists

January 15, 2025

It’s official. Doritos has named the three finalists of its Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest with the help of Super Bowl experts, and Doritos superfans, Patrick Mahones and the Kansas City Chiefs.

After reviewing thousands of submissions, it’s now up to the fans to vote for which fan-made ad will win $1 million and air during the big game. The finalists are “Abduction,” “Barbershop,” and “Charades.”

The Doritos focus group showed how Mahomes and his fellow Chiefs players decided on the winners. Mahomes was joined by teammates Chris Jones, Xavier Worthy, and Creed Humphrey to get a first look at the finalists’ ads.

On his Instagram page, the football star wrote, “We took this job very seriously and this was a tough choice. Now you get to choose the next Doritos Crash the Super Bowl Commercial. Vote for your favorite at DoritosCrash.com!”

In a press release, Tina Mahal, senior vice president of marketing at PepsiCo Foods North America, said, “Crash the Super Bowl’s legacy has always been about Doritos being fans of its fans. These three final commercials remind us that when a brand puts the fate of its biggest advertising moment of the year in the fans’ hands, incredible moments can happen. I feel so proud of this final three and the thousands that showed up and out with their submissions. We can’t wait to see which one the fans choose!”

Fans can vote at DoritosCrash.com until Jan. 28.

Details About the Trio of Doritos Crash the Super Bowl Spots

The three finalists feature filmmakers who share not only a love for Doritos, but also a love for creation.

Dylan Bradshaw and Nate Norell came up with the idea for “Abduction.” Their commercial features a man enjoying his Doritos when suddenly, an alien tries to take his bag.

“Barbershop” creators Zach Shenouda and Ryan Robinson bonded over their love of making movies. In their submission, a barber is cutting a customer’s hair. A bag of Doritos sits on a nearby table. The barber’s fingers are covered in cheesy dust, so the customer, craving the snack, bites down on the man’s finger and leaves with half his head shaved after getting thrown out of the barbershop.

Finally, “Charades” is the brainchild of Mark Blitch of Wylie, Texas. His son is featured in the spot. It shows a family playing charades and the father just can’t get the simple clue, Doritos.

The Doritos Crash the Super Bowl winner will be revealed in early February, ahead of Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9.
