Subway Launches New OREO Footlong Cookie To Join Its Popular Sidekicks Lineup
January 30, 2025
Subway fans who are more in favor of a footlong dessert than a submarine sandwich are in luck — the green-and-yellow brand is expanding upon its popular Sidekicks lineup with a brand-new entry.
The sandwich chain has launched the OREO Footlong Cookie, as Restaurant Business reported, with the chocolatey treat available as of Jan. 30 at restaurants nationwide for a limited time.
Subway Exec Signals OREO Cookie as First Cookie Collab for the Brand
While Subway partnered with Atlanta-based GoTo Foods, parent company of Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon, to produce footlong churro and pretzel offerings last June, the company indicated that this latest collab with OREO was the first of its kind.
“Subway worked closely with the OREO cookie experts to create something that fans of both brands are going to love — the ideal blend of our popular double chocolate cookie with the delicious crunch of their signature cookie and creme filling,” said Paul Fabre, SVP of culinary and innovation, in a press release.
“OREO cookies capture our passion for quality ingredients and maximum flavor, making them the ideal partner for Subway’s first Footlong Cookie collaboration,” Fabre continued.
I know Subway hate to see me coming because I'm gonna devour these new OREO Footlong Cookies!
These are dropping in January (guessing 1/6) and feature a footlong chocolate cookie topped with that creme filling and then OREO cookies on top.

The Sidekicks collection has been a notable success story for Subway. According to the company itself, over 13 million Footlong Cookies have been sold to hungry customers since the chocolate chip cookie debuted last January. During the holidays, the chain also launched a seasonal option, the Double Chocolate Peppermint Footlong Cookie.
Fabre previously told Restaurant Business that the Sidekicks were taking advantage of a trend toward snacking culture.
“People come in and order a Sidekick to have as [a] snack, or buy multiples to share as afternoon snacks,” said Fabre. “They’re a quick addition and offer great value for the guest.”
Subway Considering a Pivot Concerning Its US Advertising in 2025
As part of an ongoing retooling of its advertising approach amid some sales and traffic concerns, Subway recently launched a request for proposal concerning its U.S. advertising efforts, per Ad Age.
“We have issued an RFP for our creative, advertising and paid media business in the U.S. as part of a regular business review,” Subway said in a statement to Ad Age.
The current account holder, Dentsu, is expected to defend the account but has issued no comment as of Jan. 30.
