Del Taco Is Opening a Much-Anticipated Location in Alabama. Here Are the Details

Del Taco is one of the most popular Tex-Mex-inspired fast-food chains in the United States, but most of its locations have been concentrated on the West Coast. However, a recent news report suggests that North Alabama will soon get a much-anticipated location. Here are the details.

Del Taco in Huntsville Isn’t Open Yet…But It’s Hiring

According to Fox 54, open interviews for different positions began earlier this week. However, there is no official open date yet for this Del Taco location. Another location is set to open in Madison, on Balch Road. There is no official opening date for this location, either.

Opening a Del Taco location in Huntsville may prove to be a wise move for the Tex-Mex-inspired chain. At the moment, Huntsville is among the cities in the state with the quickest growth rates. Everything from scientific discoveries to southern charm coexists harmoniously in northern Alabama. And although though Huntsville is in the “Deep South,” it’s a hot culinary destination. With so many choices, you’ll likely find something that will blow your taste buds away, from mom-and-pop eateries to restaurants that have won awards.

Huntsville residents will be able to enjoy the new burritos at the Del Taco restaurant when it finally opens. The Del’s Real Deal$ menu already features some of Del’s best-selling dishes at low prices. Del Taco’s exceptional value menu is now enhanced by these two new burritos, which provide even more freshness and flavor:

• Bean, Rice, and Cheese Burrito: Packed with scratch-made slow-cooked beans, cilantro lime rice, freshly grated cheddar cheese, and tangy red sauce, all wrapped in a warm, oversized flour tortilla.
• Chipotle Chicken Burrito: Filled with freshly grilled marinated chicken, scratch-made slow-cooked beans, cilantro lime rice, smoky chipotle sauce, and creamy sour cream, then wrapped in a warm, oversized flour tortilla and grilled to golden perfection.

A Location May Be Coming to South Carolina, Too

There are other locations in the United States where you can enjoy Del Taco. Further north from Alabama is the state of South Carolina, where another location is rumored to be opening soon.

Developers in Socastee, along Highway 544, just outside the city limits of Myrtle Beach, have erected a sign with sketches of prospective Del Taco and Freddy’s Frozen Custard locations, as reported by The Sun News. However, South Carolina has no sites listed on the company’s online map.

According to its website, the fast-food chain operates 595 locations in 18 other states. In 2024, Del Taco opened its first location in Durham, North Carolina.

Franchisee Impeccable Development plans to open seven restaurants in Myrtle Beach and Wilmington, North Carolina.

Locals will also get to savor the recently introduced menu items from the well-known restaurant with a Tex-Mex influence. In November 2024, the chain released the Chipotle Carne Asada Steak Burrito, which it describes as a daring addition to its freshly grilled carne asada steaks.

It’s a favorite among backyard barbecues, family gatherings and get-togethers because of the freshly grilled, bold and authentic flavor it brings to a meal,” said the fast-food chain’s Brand President Tom Rose in a statement at the time. “Our guests should be able to grab carne asada on the go at an affordable price. Starting with Street Tacos at $2.99, our carne asada steak lineup also includes Epic Burritos and Loaded Fries, plus the NEW Chipotle Carne Asada Steak Burrito that’s over half a pound and grilled to perfection.”
