Del Taco Expands Again — This Time, to Indiana. Here’s What We Know

February 17, 2025

Del Taco has continued to expand its footprint in the United States, and this time, the company is taking its delicious Tex-Mex-inspired menu to Indiana. The Hoosier State will be getting approximately 10 locations thanks to a new franchisee group. Here’s what we know about these newest locations.

Del Taco Expands to Indiana

Fox 59 reports that the California-based fast-food chain has announced a development deal with a new franchisee to open 10 sites in central Indiana. The Indianapolis metropolitan area’s target markets include Greenwood, Plainfield, and Avon, as well as Bloomington, Bedford, and Columbus to the south.

The nearest Del Taco locations to Indiana are currently in Michigan and Ohio. As of this writing, there are around 600 establishments in 17 states.

It is not yet clear when the first location in Indiana will open.

“We are thrilled to welcome this dynamic group of entrepreneurs to the Del Taco family,” said Van Ingram, vice president of franchise development, in a statement to the outlet. “Their passion for the brand and business acumen are exactly what we look for when bringing on a new franchisee. We are confident that they will be successful in bringing the fresh ingredients and bold flavors of Del Taco to the Indianapolis community.”

Not long ago, too, Del Taco announced that it was opening new locations in South Carolina.

In Socastee, just outside of Myrtle Beach, developers have built a sign along Highway 544 with sketches of proposed Del Taco and Freddy’s Frozen Custard establishments. However, no facilities in South Carolina are currently listed on the company’s internet map.

There are currently 12 Freddy’s Frozen Custard locations in South Carolina, including Lexington, Florence, Summerville, Columbia, and Rock Hill. French fries cost $2.99 at this company, frozen custards are $5.79, and Freddy’s Original Double cheeseburger is $7.79.

Del Taco opened its first location in Durham, North Carolina, earlier this year. The current menu includes three-layer queso nachos for $2.39, crispy chicken tacos for $2.19 each, and a steak burrito for $5.99.

The Chain Released 2 New Burritos

Regardless of when the Tex-Mex-inspired chain opens its Indiana locations, fans can enjoy two new burritos recently added to the menu lineup:

  • Bean, Rice, and Cheese Burrito: Packed with slow-cooked beans, cilantro lime rice, freshly grated cheddar cheese, and tangy red sauce, all wrapped in a warm, oversized flour tortilla.
  • Chipotle Chicken Burrito: Filled with freshly grilled marinated chicken, slow-cooked beans, cilantro lime rice, smoky chipotle sauce, and creamy sour cream, then wrapped in a warm, oversized flour tortilla and grilled to golden perfection.

According to a press release, the restaurant also introduced Del’s Bundles, which are carefully curated bundles of Del’s Real Deal$ products suitable for both singles and small groups. Additionally, the iconic Poppers beverages have returned and are now available in a brand-new flavor combination: Dragon Fruit Blueberry combined with Sprite, lemonade, or the chain’s vanilla shake.

Some of Del’s most popular menu items are already on the Del’s Real Deal$ menu and available at unbelievably low prices. The two new burritos now complement Del Taco’s excellent value menu by giving even more flavor and freshness.

“Del Taco has always been committed to delivering bold flavors and exceptional value, and the addition of our two new burritos to our Del’s Real Deal$ menu and Del’s Bundles continue that tradition at an unbeatable price,” said Del Taco President Tom Rose in a statement accompanying the press release. “Not to mention, our new Dragon Fruit Blueberry Poppers beverages are packed with flavor too. Juicy dragon fruit and a burst of blueberry flavor, a combination that will have guests coming back for more.”
