February 26, 2025
McDonald’s is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Egg McMuffin sandwich with meal deals and discounts for customers.
According to a press release, March 2 is National Egg McMuffin Day. Customers can grab a sandwich in the app for just $1 on that day, with no other purchase required. Then, from March 3 to March 30, fans may get a BOGO Sausage McMuffin with Egg when they place a McDelivery order through the McDonald’s App.
Fans can get even more value at their local McDonald’s by using the McValue menu and local promotions, which are only available through the McDonald’s App.
“At McDonald’s, breakfast isn’t just a meal; it’s a cherished tradition and cornerstone of our brand,” said McDonald’s USA President Joe Erlinger in a statement accompanying the press release. “Every morning when we open our doors, we are a breakfast restaurant. Whether it’s my personal favorite, the Egg McMuffin, or our crispy Hash Browns, fluffy hotcakes, or sweet and savory McGriddles, we’re all about giving our customers the best start to their day. Our fans know they can always count on us for a one-of-a-kind breakfast experience, anchored in great value and high-quality ingredients.”
McDonald’s Egg McMuffin Is a Favorite for Chefs
In an Eat This! Not That! feature, several high-end chefs revealed their favorite fast-food delicacies. After being surrounded by the most incredible ingredients all day, they gravitate to one fast-food dish.
The top item on the list is an Egg McMuffin. This popular breakfast sandwich has long been a wonderful way to start the day. Some chefs also give it high marks for its flavor and mobility.
Brian Cartenuto, the chef and proprietor of Bird Dog in New York City, told the outlet, “The breakfast at McDonald’s is a safe place for me and a special treat. When I have time from dropping off my daughter at school, I can walk by and pop in if I have a few extra minutes for this perfectly circle breakfast!”
“My love began when I would race to the restaurant on half days in high school, trying to get there before breakfast closed,” added Ben Robinson, executive pastry chef at Echelon Kitchen & Bar in Ann Arbor, Michigan. “Later, it became the go-to early morning hangover cure before work. Now that I’m older and (a little) more mature, I try to eat healthier, but I still crave those nostalgic meals.”
