Burger King To Launch Steakhouse Bacon Whopper, Free Premium Side Options
February 28, 2025
Whopper fans and frequent guests of Burger King more broadly might have something to smile about in the near future. According to a Feb. 27 company press release, options aplenty are on the immediate horizon.
First, Burger King has announced the imminent launch of a new Whopper sandwich — the Steakhouse Bacon Whopper — following a number of guest requests and the success of last year’s Million Dollar Whopper contest. That contest, which spurred the launch of the Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, and the Mexican Street Corn Whopper, saw these three finalists declared in September 2024.
Now, with BK lovers anxiously anticipating the latest menu item, it appears they won’t have to wait long: The Steakhouse Bacon Whopper hits grills nationwide on March 6.
What Exactly Is Burger King’s Bacon Steakhouse Whopper?
With all of the variants of the Whopper rolling out in recent years, it’s sometimes hard to keep track of exactly what makes each version different.
In the case of the Steakhouse Bacon Whopper, the answer is somewhat straightforward. Kicking things off with A.1. sauce to really conjure up that steakhouse flavor, the ingredients list then expands to lettuce, tomato, peppercorn aioli, crispy onions, Swiss cheese, bacon, and finally the famous Whopper beef patty.
“We are constantly listening to our Guests to learn how they want to customize America’s Favorite Burger, which is why we’re so excited about the new Steakhouse Bacon Whopper,” said Christy Skylis, VP of brand marketing and culinary, Burger King US&C.
“This creation is the result of our passionate Guests and Whopper lovers, and we look forward to bringing even more Guest created and inspired creations to our menu later this year and in the future — so keep the great ideas coming!” Skylis added.
Burger King Is Offering Premium Side Order Swaps for Free, for a Limited Time
For a limited time only and at select Burger King restaurants across the U.S., diners can now elect to toss their classic French Fries, Onion Rings, or Have-sies in favor of Mozzarella Fries, Chicken Fries, or Churro Fries at no extra cost.
There’s obviously an upcharge if you’d like to order a larger-than-standard combo option in this fashion, but for straight swaps, the company is advertising that they will be free.
