McDonald’s Drops Limited-Edition Minecraft Meals and Nether Flame Sauce

Two of the world’s most iconic fandoms, McDonald’s and Minecraft, have united for a limited-edition collaboration that will satisfy both the hunger and the gamer in everyone.

A press release reveals, “From adults to our youngest fans, everyone is invited to join in on the fun with our first-ever joint integration, which includes unique keepsakes and one-of-a-kind experiences for each meal. Combined with our craveable food, these offer an unmatched experience for every fan.”

The chain has dropped something for adults as well as for kids: “A Minecraft Movie” Meal and Happy Meal.

According to the press release, “‘A Minecraft Movie’ Happy Meal features one of 12 recognizable Blockhead or Block World character toys from the film and game,” while the adult meal “stars one of six collectibles inspired by McDonald’s most beloved Characters and Menu Items and Minecraft lore — like the Grimace turned Grimace Egg inspired by the rare Minecraft Dragon egg, or the Big Mac turned Big Mac Crystal.”

This collaboration pairs the physical and digital worlds of the restaurant and game. Subsequently, McDonald’s invites fans to participate in unique digital experiences, fueling their creativity while enjoying their favorite meals. All “A Minecraft Movie” Meals come with a matching card and a scannable code that unlocks a special in-game Skin.

Fans of the fast-food chain and video game who make a purchase or redeem points through the app will receive an extra code to unlock an exclusive McDonald’s pack in Minecraft, featuring several unique tools for gamers to explore. Additionally, each Happy Meal includes a scannable code that grants access to a digital game, allowing players to embark on their adventure in a McDonald’s-inspired “A Minecraft Movie” world.

Per USA Today, McDonald’s customers can choose between two versions of “A Minecraft Movie” meal. It includes medium fries, a drink, a limited-edition collectible, and the choice of a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets.

Both meals are available at the fast-food eatery for a limited time. Each comes with access to digital experiences and six custom-designed collectibles or toys upon purchase.

The 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal option also comes with the Nether Flame Sauce, a limited-edition spicy but sweet sauce. The sauce is made with crushed red pepper and cayenne, balanced with hints of garlic and sweetness.

McDonald’s “A Minecraft Movie” Meal will be released on April 1, and the movie debuts on April 4.
