Chipotle’s BOGO Deal Is Back for Playoff Season: Wear a Hockey Jersey, Get a Free Entree
April 17, 2025
Chipotle is making it easier than ever to score free food this spring.
According to a company press release, the quick-service eatery will give fans a BOGO deal on all entrees if they wear a hockey jersey to their local restaurants. This initiative, now five years strong, is to honor the Stanley Cup Playoffs, a critical time in hockey where the season’s overall champion is crowned.
“Our Hockey Jersey BOGO offer, back for the fifth consecutive year, has become a yearly tradition to kick off the Stanley Cup Playoffs and celebrate hockey fans in the U.S. and Canada,” said Chris Brandt, the company’s chief brand officer.
Fans who show up in a hockey jersey after 3 p.m. local time on Monday, April 21, can score a buy-one-get-one free entrée offer at participating locations.
Chipotle’s hockey jersey promotional deal is just one of many ways the quick-service restaurant gives back to its loyal customers. The eatery frequently offers buy-one-get-one (BOGO) promotions throughout the year, aligning them with various events and appreciation days.
Some of the company’s seasonal BOGO deals include Veterans Day deals for active military and veterans. Additionally, teachers, faculty, and school staff can receive a free entrée with the purchase of another by presenting a valid school ID, and to celebrate graduates, Chipotle has offered BOGO deals tied to gift card purchases. Finally, the chain celebrates National Burrito Day with special promotions.
The promotion is valid at all participating restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. Per the eatery, this BOGO promotion is limited to five free menu items per check and is subject to availability.
Each free item requires the purchase of an entrée item of equal or greater value and may be collected only by the hockey jersey-wearing customer.
Chipotle’s Partnership With the NHL Continues
Chipotle is extending its multi-year collaboration with the NHL, maintaining its role as the league’s exclusive fast-casual and Mexican-inspired restaurant partner across North America. As part of the renewed alliance, Chipotle’s branding will appear on the ice throughout every game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, keeping the partnership front and center during one of hockey’s biggest moments.
Also, Chipotle will be an official partner of the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) for the first time in 2025. The restaurant chain first became an official NHL partner in 2021.
“Extending our partnership with the NHL and adding the NHLPA will help us grow alongside this dynamic league,” said Brandt in a recent NHL press release. “Chipper,’ as the hockey community likes to call Chipotle, is the premier restaurant destination for players and fans who are craving real food.”
Jason Jazayeri, NHL Group vice president of business development, added, “We are excited to celebrate the success of our relationship with Chipotle and continue to engage our passionate fans and Chipotle consumers. Our extension will see a continued emphasis on collaboration with Chipotle to deliver unique and compelling fan promotions, creating new ways for our fans to interact with our great game.”
In conclusion, Devin Smith, NHLPA senior director of sponsorship and player marketing, stated that the NHL is “thrilled” to officially join Chipotle in this multi-year partnership and feature professional hockey players in the chain’s campaigns. “We’re looking forward to continuing to bring more players to the forefront as part of Chipotle marketing and advertising and working together with both the NHL and Chipotle to evolve and grow this partnership.”
